Hidden Safari
Hidden Safari:
For this lesson we were to create an animal that was "hidden." To begin, we used a technique were we drew a picture upside down from an example picture. We had to practice on a few examples and from there we could pick out our animal. Then, we drew our animal, using the upside down technique, but on a bigger piece of paper. Once we had that copied down with a blue colored pencil, we were shown how we hide our animal using warm colors. We had to have at least 3 layers over our animal so we couldn't see it. Then, we created red glasses that we could put on to see our animal, these glasses allowed us to see the animal and not the layers of warm colors.
Extension Activity:
For an extension activity, I would have my students write a story about their artwork. It could be about a safari from their point of view of the point of view of the animal they chose. The students could then present their stories to the class and show off their artwork.
