Starry Night

 Lesson:
For this lesson, we talked about Vincent Van Gogh's life and his artwork. We then had to create our own version of his piece, Starry Night. We began with laying down tissue paper for the background to create a landscape and used modge podge to keep it down. Then, we added a silhouette to add more detail to our landscape. Lastly, we used oil pastels (could use crayons too) to make lines that showed movement in out landscapes.

Extension Activity:
I would incorporate language arts by having the students write a story about their landscape. It can be based on a true story or completely made up. I wouldn't have them make it a very long story because I want them to share their stories and artwork with the class without taking too much time.
