My footprint introduction project
Description: This project gives students the opportunity to introduce themselves to their peers and the teacher. Each student has to trace their own foot and cut it out. Then, they have to use at least 3 different mediums to symbolize different things about themselves. What they like to do, where they are from, something interesting about themselves, etc. This is a great way to learn more about your students and for them to work on a bunch of different art skills. Extension Activity: As an extra activity, I would have the kids measure their heights. They would get into groups of 2-4 people and take a ruler to measure each foot. Then, they would take the foot that is closest to being 12 inches and use it to measure each member of the group. The students would lay down on their backs while their classmates measure how many feet tall they are. Once they record their heights, they will find the tallest person in the group.
